After a successful launch into the worldwide retail market, Ambi Labs, a tech startup based in Hong Kong, kicked off their second crowdfunding campaign in May 2017 with the aim to fund the production of Ambi Climate 2nd Edition. The product? An intelligent, AI-powered add-on for air conditioners that not only learns users’ preferences to create the most comfortable home environment but also allows remote access and saves energy.
We successfully coordinated a round of product seeding with a group of tech journalists and bloggers, all of whom tested and reviewed the product.
In the span of the 4-week kickstarter campaign, which reached its funding goal in just 11 hours and finished with 311% the expected funding (raising over US$155,000), we secured quality coverage in the form of print, online, social and video from every writer participating in the product seeding. The articles appeared in 1st tier tech publications such as Engadget, PCM, E-Zone and Unwire as well as Hong Kong’s top dailies such as HK01, Apple Daily and Ming Pao, and were published throughout the campaign.
