All-day restaurant Komune opened its doors in December 2017. As a new restaurant in the Ovolo Southside hotel, we were tasked with making this a dining & beverage destination hotspot in an up-and-coming area. Our six-month campaign included media and blogger relations as well as social media marketing.
To begin, we organized a blogger workshop with international cocktail consultancy Cocktail Professor, highlighting the restaurant’s unique drinks menu and bringing the Komune name to social media. The soft launch party provided an opportunity to invite key influencer contacts, which ensured the party was well represented on social media.
We developed multiple bilingual campaigns and organized media interviews, photo shoots and over 20 tastings, where publications including Ming Pao, Eat and Travel Weekly, Gafencu and Sing Tao Daily were able to meet the Komune team and chat with the chef.
Throughout the campaign, a solid social media strategy was developed to ensure constant organic growth and interaction, for which we curated content and wrote copy as well as interacting with fans.
Measurement and Evaluation
- Komune reached No. 1 on Trip Advisor in just a few short months; the second restaurant launched by Cred Communications to do so
- Total reach/opportunities to see or hear something about Komune: Over 28 million
- Over 110 pieces of coverage with 89% of articles appearing in top-tier media including Lifestyle Asia, Crave, Ming Pao, HKEJ, Gafencu and MRRM
- Over 600 followers on Instagram within 4 months, with an average of 28 new organic followers a week
